How I felt when commenting on other peoples blogs

Task of the day

Today, 17th September 2024 Tuesday, for Cyber-Smart our task was to post 5 positive comments on my classmates/someones blog. After commenting on everyone’s post, this made me feel like I was a kind person as I showed compassion for other peoples learning and it was a lot easier for me to say things to people, since I’m not used to talking to some of those people during class. I’m not 100% certain but I think commenting positive things had/could put a smile on their face or had at least enlightened their day. Like the saying goes “Be the reason someone smiles, Be the reason someone feels loved and believes in the goodness in people.”

When things go wrong..! #Cybersmart

For today, my cyber-smart task was to watch a video about what I/you should do when you receive an email/comment that is not:

positive, thoughtful or helpful

makes us sad or uncomfortable

The other task was to make a copy of a slide presentation and drag checks into boxes asking to confirm if you know how to:

Take a screenshot, send emails properly and know what a quality blog comment should look like.

And the last one  was to write the names of trusted adults in the grey box that you think/know could help you in a situation when you receive bad comments (At home/Whanau or at school).

Today’s Fun Run

Today in room 11 and 12, Friday 30th of august 2024, we had a fun run from Pakuranga Rotary Park all the way to Saint Kenz College and had ran 3km around the walkway next to the beach. We had all ran in different groups and at different times, I was in the first group and we started running at 10:00/10:05am, the time I had finished at was 10:20am. I had heaps of fun and felt tired out in the end.

How it feels to be a new student at GlenTaylor School

I’ve been a new student at GTS (Glen Taylor School) for about a week and one day, it was really nice to see the many students looking after me and asking me questions while meeting other students and teachers. The people at GTS have taken good care of me and showing me new things around the school and class rooms and were very welcoming. When I first came to GTS, I was in room 3 with the year 5/6’s while my class, room 11 were at tech/technology(yr 7/8’s). Even though I was not the same year level as room 3, they still showed me good leadership and helped me learn their way of education in this school. When my class room 11(yr 7 & 8’s) had came back from tech, everyone had showed me their way of learning in their class which was different from room 3’s class which was also very helpful. I feel proud to be apart of GlenTaylor School and I am glad to be staying with the people here.
